The role of the standard gas
(1) to establish the traceability of the measurement. Gas reference material has good uniformity and stability, can preserve the chemical composition and characteristic value of the substance, and transmit its value in different spaces and times. Therefore, the traceability of measurement can be obtained from the results of various actual measurements by applying standard gases.
(2) Promote the development of measurement technology and quality supervision. Standard gas plays an important role in ensuring the consistency of product quality and inspection results, and ensuring the scientific, authoritative and impartiality of technical supervision. Standard gas is inseparable from the stereotype identification of new instruments, the metrological certification of quality inspection agencies, laboratory accreditation, and the formulation, verification and implementation of national and industrial gas product standards.
(3) Carry out the transfer of the magnitude. Standard gas is a means of transferring value and achieving consistent measurement results. Through different grades of standard gas, the value of the basic unit of the International System of Units is transmitted to the actual measurement in turn to ensure the accuracy of the measurement result.
(4) Ensure that the test results are accurate and consistent. Standard gas can be used to calibrate or verify the quality of the measurement process and various measurements, so as to ensure the consistency of measurement results in different time and space.
