Copper isotopes Cu-63 and Cu-65 have been used to study copper metabolism and gastrointestinal diseases. Copper-63 is used to produce the medical radioisotope zinc-62 and can also be used to produce copper-64 for cancer diagnosis and treatment. The CU-65 is also proposed as a precursor to the PRODUCTION of the CU-64 (cyclotron).
