Germanium isotope Germanium 72



Germanium isotopes are mainly used in the production of medical arsenic and selenium radioisotopes. Ge-74 is used to produce AS-74, GE-76 to produce AS-77, GE-74 to produce AS-73, and GE-72 to produce AS-72. Ge-70, GE-72, and GE-74 can all be used to produce the medical radioisotope SE-73, although the most common route of production is through natural As (AS-75). Natural GeF4 is used in semiconductor pre-amorphous injection process. Using GE-72 in the form of GeF4 can improve this process and reduce pollution. Finally, GE-76 was used to study double beta decay.
